Originally the title of the first NYC dance piece Yvonne choreographed back in 2007, Hello to Nightmares, Alternate Worlds, and Fictitious Days now serves as the starting point for a new solo project and personal retrospective. Revisiting the music and emotional tone of that early work, Yvonne layers it with the lived experience, creative evolution, and spiritual insight she’s gathered over two decades in New York City.
Through storytelling and dance, we explore the nonlinear, shifting states of a neurodivergent mind, grappling with inner demons while reaching to make sense of unseen spiritual forces. This is an excerpt of what will eventually become a one-woman show. For now, we offer a dance between past and present, body and spirit, chaos and clarity.

Created by Yvonne Huatin Chow | 周化炜, Find A Good Husband is a tribute to Yvonne’s paternal grandfather, Mike Kuo-Min Chow (Yeh Yeh), inspired by a message he wrote in his final birthday card to her. The work traces Yeh Yeh’s journey — from a rural village in Sichuan, to his time as a pilot in the Chinese Air Force, to planting roots and building a vibrant family legacy in California. Blending Hip-Hop dance, Asian folk traditions, and martial arts, the piece explores the weight of generational hopes and the responsibility of carrying legacy forward.
